QUINN WALKER
I am not a Tai Chi master. Far from it! My first love was always music. I came to my practice because I suffered numerous injuries and illnesses. In particular I have a childhood spine injury that was made worse by bending over my guitar causing chronic pain and forcing me to sing instead of play. I also have a serious colon disease and have had major surgeries. When I started practicing Tai Chi it was after a surgery, I was frustrated because my body was not strong enough for traditional exercise. I noticed my physical and mental health improving. Unique from many exercise classes Tai Chi practice encourages you to take your time and build your energy by moving slowly, growing sensitivity and balance, and discovering healthier ways of moving. I earned my BA at UC Berkeley in 2004 and I’ve taught music, yoga, and tai chi for many years at locations all over the Bay Area. I love helping people become healthier and happier! I have been lucky in having several great teachers- real Tai Chi masters who have helped shape my practice and my understanding of life. Whether you are my student at UC Berkeley or a senior center I am here for you and I care about your well being.
